Removable
Implant Overdentures:
Lecture and Hands-on Workshop
Restoring Nobel Biocare implants with removable overdentures
has become
one of the most popular solutions to edentulism. As an
expert in this field,
Dr. Strong will illustrate principles and procedures to
insure success with
these types of cases. The lecture features new materials
and techniques for
producing exquisite master impressions and for registering
centric relation
with unmatched accuracy.
Among the many valuable features of this presentation,
Dr. Strong will provide
solutions to the two most common issues with removable
cases: getting
accurate impressions and registration of centric relation.
This program
promises an enthusiastic, multimedia presentation that
has been acclaimed
by dentists as providing a means for immediately incorporating
removable
implant prosthetics into the restorative practice.
Hands-on Workshop
Using models, impression copings, implant analogs, overdenture
abutments,
impression trays, impression material, and pickup material
you will perform:
- Tray selection and preparation for the master impression
- Making an implant level impression for an overdenture
- Making an abutment level impression for an overdenture
- Selection of the proper height for the overdenture abutment
- Pickup of attachment and housing from workshop model

Contemporary
Concepts in Tooth Replacement:
A Major Paradigm Shift
The principle focus of implant dentistry has changed significantly
from the
era of ‘Anatomically driven implant placement’
to the current practice of
‘Restoration driven implant placement’. When
we now look at the failing
dentition in the aesthetic zone we now must immediately
consider conversion
to implants. We are continually seeking greater control
of the peri-implant
tissues and ultimately the aesthetics of the restoration.
A new paradigm shift,
“Tissue Care Concept” along with advances
in implant surface engineering
and implant/abutment designs allow us to consider immediate
implant
replacement, especially in the aesthetic zone, where preservation
of hard
and soft tissue is of paramount importance in order follow
the principles of
aesthetics by maintaining the elements which are already
there.
This program will enhance your implant practice by addressing
the following:
- A review of ‘where we have been’ with implant
dentistry
- Lay the basis for an understanding of where we are now
- Provide an bio-mechanical understanding for the current
trend in
immediate implant replacement
- Formulate a scientific basis for pushing the envelope
of immediate implant
placement and immediate non-functional loading of the
implant
- Discuss the “Tissue Care Concept”
This multimedia presentation, incorporating video, animations,
computerized
graphics and clinical images is a detailed course for
generalists and specialists
including their respective support staff. It will help
them broaden their
understanding in the philosophy and science behind the
new and exciting
horizons currently being investigated.

Combining
Art and Science
The Key to Superior Esthetic Results with Direct Resin
Bonding
The all day presentation
is packed full of how to’s and he keeps no secrets.
The wide screen PowerPoint Program accurately tells the
story in stepwise
sequences.
Course objectives are learn how to:
- Utilize today’s composite resin materials to their
best advantages
- Make Class III, IV and V restorations totally “invisible”
- Close diastemas noninvasively and invisibly
- Make direct composite veneers look like the real thing
and not just
a plastic overlay.
- Create esthetic restorative orthodontic corrections.
- Restore mutilated dentitions.
- Use opaquers and tints to scatter and block light, change
color,
create opacity and translucency and increase and decrease
value.
- Contour, characterize, and finish final restorations
in order to make
them believable and compatible with the soft tissue.
- Properly polish restorations to acquire a long lasting,
easily maintainable
enamel-like luster.
- Create the most lifelike, esthetic, and truly believable
restorations possible.
- Make invisible repairs of all kinds on resin, porcelain
or metal.
- Accurately diagnose esthetic needs.
- Learn a philosophy of practice and communication that
allows the patient
to understand and easily accept proposed treatment plans.
