Paresh Shah maintains a private practice in Winnipeg with a focus on implant, cosmetic and interdisciplinary care. He graduated from the U of Manitoba in 1991 and has a Certificate in Esthetic Dentistry from the U of Buffalo in 2007. He is a clinical mentor at the U of Minnesota Esthetic Dentistry Program. He lectures internationally on aesthetics

Stephen P. Niemczyk D.M.D.
“Advanced Endodontics for the General Dentist”
Ever changing advances in endodontic technique and technologies now afford the General Dentist greater treatment options and confidence. These new techniques and protocols will be presented and explored in a multimedia format, benefiting the novice and experienced user alike. The morning presentation updates the latest rotary instrumentation and thermoplastic obturation schemes, highlighting irrigation protocols and hybrid instrumentation. The afternoon session continues with the introduction of the surgical operating microscope and its impact on the successful treatment of calcified canals, re-treatments, immature pulp therapies and perforation repair, employing ultrasonic instrumentation and biocompatible materials. This is followed by a hands-on session (two hours) where the participants have the opportunity to utilize the instruments and techniques presented in the lecture.

Dr. Niemczyk graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, receiving his D.M.D. in 1982 and his postgraduate Endodontic certificate in 1984. He was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Endodontics in 1984, and established a private practice limited to Endodontics in Drexel Hill, PA.

CPR / AED

Dr. Gajjar, a certified instructor with the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario, along with a team of assistant instructors, will review the steps to follow when you encounter a medical emergency in your office. A recertification of CPR for health care providers will be offered as well as the use of an AED for targeted responders.Yearly CPR renewal is required for all office staff and this course presents an excellent opportunity for members of the dental office to stay current with the new changes in CPR protocol.


Dr. Gajjar lectures on managing medical emergencies in the dental office, has been a lecturer of oral pathology and clinical instructor at the Canadian Academy of Dental Hygiene, and currently serves as a clinical instructor in the Oral Diagnosis and Emergency clinics at the University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry.

Recent Innovations in Endodontics for Dentists Pursuing Endodontic Excellence

Cleaning and Shaping of the root canal system – a review of new rotary systems, the proper use of apex locators and the use of ultrasonics in endodontics.
It will cover canal disinfection with ultrasonics and the Endoactivator as well as negative pressure irrigation. Obturation - New research on monoblocks and carrier based obturation and the new MTA and MTA root canal cement.
Dr. Friedman graduated from the University of Witswatersrand in 1971. He then returned as a faculty member to direct the Endodontics program from 1979- 1987. Dr. Friedman became a faculty member at the University of Western Ontario in 1987 and has been the director of the Endodontic undergraduate program since 1998.
